We offer four levels of English classes for native Spanish speakers twice a week during the daytime and evenings on a year-round basis. Classes are free and are available on a drop-in basis.
For those interested in learning Spanish in order to help immigrants in our community, we provide weekly Spanish classes and conversation practice.
Basic computer instruction is available as well as free use of our high-speed wireless DSL connection.
We host a community garden dedicated to building friendships with our neighbors. Our desire is to provide a convenient and attractive place where neighbors who lack garden space can grow vegetables and flowers, and to foster a sense of community among those who garden here.
Staff and other volunteers serve as community advocates for those Spanish speakers in need of help with a variety of issues, including housing, healthcare, taxes and legal matters.
Acorn Center is available to the community for meetings, classes and other types of gatherings that help fulfill our mission. We host a healthy cooking class for latinos, and provide space for dinners, parties and small group meetings.
